I completed a diagnostic on an unlabeled air conditioner. Upon arrival system was not operational, after further diagnostic discovered that the breaker is tripped in panel , reset breaker and it immediately tripped again. Tested compressor and found it is shorted to ground and that’s the reason why breaker will not hold, system has a leak in evap coil and runs low on refrigerant which puts a lot of stress on compressor and that is most likely why compressor has failed, checked with manufacture on warranty and system is out of warranty. Recommend system replacement due to bad compressor/leak in evap coil and cost of repairs, not operational at departure.
I attempted a diagnostic on a Lennox gas furnace but was unable to continue once discovering the main circuit board needed replaced but customer simply decided to replace the unit. Furnace was not operational at departure and I scheduled the client for a half install the following tuesday.
After removing the Carrier Gas furnace and Carrier Air Conditioner, I installed a Carrier 96% Two-Stage 40,000 BTU Gas Furnace and a Carrier up to 17 SEER 2 STAGE 2 Ton Air Conditioner. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time. Included with the installation is a free 1 year service maintenance agreement.
I completed a diagnostic call on this clients furnace. Upon arrival the thermostat was turned off. Turned it on and set to 70 degrees. The air handler kicked on and all was well. System operational upon departure.
I completed AC Diagnostics and found that The system was turned off . The client stated that it would kick on and run for 5 minutes and then kick off. I found that the system was low on refrigerant and definitely has a leak somewhere. Recommended system replacement due to age and cost of repairs. Will send an Estimate. Not operational at this time.
