Upon arrival for service call on 2012 Rheem furnace, thermostat says the house is 66 and calling for heating. Furnace dose not have an error indicator light. I cycled system. Inducer starts. Igniter starts then shuts off. Verified board is sending volts to the gas valve. Drainage pressure switch is clear of water. When furnace is running there is no continuity on the pressure switch. When you remove the wires to the pressure switch continuity is present. Drain trap is glued and unable to be cleaned out. Drain line is clear not backed up. Hose to the pressure switch could have had some debris and when it was removed switch started working again. System seams to have intermittent issues with the pressure switch. If the issue continues to happen pressure switch will need to be replaced.
Upon arrival for service call on 2005 Bryant furnace, furnace was not running showing code 25 for thermostat or switch open. Found T - switch on front drain of Evap coil open and not working, opened and disconnected t switch system running normal now.
Upon arrival for service call on 2011 Carrier furnace, turned system on heat and tested. Homeowner said they changed the filter in the furnace recently. Amps on inducer motor running fine, notice dust built up on the inducer fan. Amps on blower motor running in med low speed noise present at this time. Ran combustion test to ensure the system was safe. System heating properly
I completed the service maintenance agreement fall tune up on a Trane gas furnace. I visually inspected the unit. Filter is dirty. Client to replace filter. I cleaned the flame sensor. Checked voltages, amps and pressures. Blower motor capacitor was weak. Client authorized repairs. I replaced the capacitor. Completed combustion analysis. Cycled and monitored system. Operating normally at this time.
I completed a diagnostic on a Carrier gas furnace. Upon arrival furnace was off at the thermostat. Turn on, system cycled on with no issues. I inspected the unit. All voltages, amps and pressures were within manufacturer's specs. Cycled and monitored the system. Operating normally at this time. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the burning smell was coming from the electric water heater that is in the same closet as the furnace. I referred the client to Blessed plumbing to have a plumber address the water heater.
